Healey’s Real Food founder, David Healey (on the right), has spent a lifetime in food. A top chef, restaurateur and nutritionist, he now uses his experience and expertise to help people eat their way to healthier and happier lives. David and business partner Nick, met at the renowned Westminster College and Hotel School in London’s Vincent Square. Three years later, with diplomas in professional cookery under their belts, they went out into the world of 5-star hotels and high-end restaurants to advance their culinary skills. David has worked at London’s Mayfair Hotel, Odins (the Egon Ronay starred restaurant in Marylebone), and the L’Herrison (where he was listed as one of London’s top 10 chefs by the Good Food Guide). David has been running his own restaurants since 1998, including the Blue Pumpkin, the very popular French Café, and French Kitchen, which was shortlisted for Best Newcomer 2018, in the Good Food Guide. In 2019, David stepped out of the restaurant business and, having already completed the basic and advanced S.A.C. Dip. in diet and nutrition, gained a further diploma in culinary medicine – an FHT accredited qualification. Between them, David and Nick have more than 80 years experience of management and business ownership – gained in kitchens across the British Isles, Europe and Scandinavia – as well as qualifications in food hygiene, science and nutrition. Both are passionate about creating delicious and nutritious food that’s ethical, healthy and sustainable.
